Earthdance

Founded in 1996, Earthdance - The Global Dance Festival for Peace has grown to become the world's largest simultaneous music event. On Saturday October 12, 2002, 200,000 people in 120 cities in 50 countries united as one global festival and danced in support of global peace and humanitarian aims.

The Christchurch gig was held in Hagley Park during the day and featured DJs Fanatica, Henryk the Fox, Wammo, Psilo, Nazarite and the Massive Sound System. This was the first time the event has been held in Christchurch, and given our position on the globe, we were the first city in the world to begin the global celebrations.
