Summer Soulstice

Saturday 6 December 2003, Wairewa Homestead, Little River
4 years, 32 weeks, 2 days ago

Massive Productions is proud to present a superlative line-up to celebrate the 2003 Summer Solstice.

Starting at 1pm on Saturday and continuing at least until 11am on Sunday, Folk Music, Hip-Hop, Dub, Jungle, Drum'n'Bass, Trance, House, Breaks and Psy will flow through 20 Kilowatts of unadulterated outdoor sound system.

Bring a picnic and a frisbee for the afternoon then get ready to dance into the night under the stars in our beautiful new spot in Little River valley. A central marketplace will provide hot food and drink while plenty of parking and separate camping is available. We are very lucky to be able to allow fire performance this summer, including fire sculpture, in case you missed Equinox. It is a good idea to bring warm clothing, your own food and water, and cash but please no alcohol or glass.

Tickets are available from 7th Circle, Galaxy Records and Cosmic Corner for $25 or $35 on the gate, with 10% of proceeds being donated to Little River Primary School. Day passes will be available in the form of a $15 refund if you leave before 10pm. We also have prizes for the best costume and best impromptu performance, including tickets to Visionz and Destination, piercings from Seventh Circle, vouchers from Galaxy Records, and a fire staff from Cosmic Corner.

Line up

Melbourne based psychedelic / breaks producer Psyburbia, who has just released a sell out album on Prana/Tsutoshi Suzuki's esteemed record label Matsuri, headlines 2 zones of outdoor revelry and some of New Zealand's most gifted performers, producers and DJs.

epsilon-blue returns after a bit of a break, with more of the beautiful rhythms and melodies that we have all come to love. Leyton will also be playing as Son.Sine, his glitch tech-house production name.

The Upbeats, drum'n'bass producers from Wellington, are popping down for the weekend. For those of you that don't know them, they make funky latin upbeat happy style d'n'b, very danceable.

Dunedin based Alpharhythm, with his unique style of psy / minimal / techy / housy / proggy stuff. Good.

Mysterious D, Christchurch d'n'b production and DJing at it's finest.

Cosm are just beginning to make a name as masters of the psychedelic downbeat. They pride themselves on improvising their sound to a live crowd and proud they should be.
