Holy hecker! Massive has been around for going on ten years! We have invited some friends to come and help us celebrate this Summer Soulstice in style - this party should not be missed.

Yep we started in 1995 with a band gig at the Calendonian and even got on TV because so many people turned up (including a few riot police). We have moved on from the Caledonian but not from doing good parties so here is the rundown for Summer Soulstice 2005.

Six Zones

Lighting by ILLUMINATI-NZ

Long time Christchurch professional show design, lighting and visual specialists whose portfolio includes The Gathering, Destination and Alpine Unity. These guys know their outdoor party lighting and will be putting on a special show for us.

Tickets

Tickets $30 (no booking fee) on sale now from Hunters and Collectors, High St and Shambhala Hair Design, 209 Tuam St.

Gate sales $40.

Food / Stalls

This info is likely to be updated several times! Note there is no EFT POS on site

Dr Mocha

Good for what ails ya. Sweet expresso, cold drinks and munchies.

MiniMish

You may have seen us at a local warehouse/outdoor party near you! Providing all those essential party supplies like glowstix, water, red bull, coat check etc. But most importantly of all we're there to put a smile on everyone's face.

Due to MiniMish's increasing involvement with dance parties, we're now looking for more people to help out with our stalls. Next big parties coming up are Summer Soulstice & Tranzfer NYE. We guarantee a wicked time working (and I say working as if it's a chore, it's far from it!!!), free entry to the event and free product hookups, all for just a few hours of your time to be part of the MiniMish crew.

If you're bubbly, outgoing and love meeting new people, email us mr_firefly(at)orcon.net.nz

Subtle Promotions presents the Tech Dub Drum n Bass Tent

This will be the second time the Tech Dub Drum n Bass Tent has been used at a solstice party but the first time under its new promotions company Subtle. For this Summer Soulstice party the Subtle DnB Zone will be hosted in an old skool Jamaican sound clash style similar to the soundsystem parties of the original Reggae producers who owned their own eccentric soundsystems and moved them from yard to yard testing out their latest dubplates and battling it out with other rival producers. It is this hardcore do it your self ethic that has inspired Subtle to reinvent a modern renegade equivalent for the new generation of DnB Warriors. Let the Clash begin in true underground stylee!!!

Subtle Promotions and Massive proudly presents New Zealand's own wonder duo, State of Mind.

With huge releases on Bad Company Presents, 31 Records, Hostile, Technique, C.I.A and a whole lot more on the horizon, these boys have come from nowhere to take the drum and bass world by storm. Every DJ in the scene at the moment from Andy C to Teebee are lining up to get their hands on anything and everything produced by these two. With their relentless style and an arsenal of tunes second to none will make this a huge event not to be missed.

So get out of the city and let the new skool show you how its done.

Subtle Promotions says:

This event is going to be one hell of a party.

As you all know the Tech Dub Drum n Bass Tent ( Winter Soulstice 05 ) will be the venue for the Drum n Bass Zone Summer Soulstice 05 . Subtle is going to step it up a few more knotchs for this particular event as it would be rude not to being Massives Tenth birthday and all. Subtle Promotions believes bringing Dub, Dancehall, Hip Hop and Drum N Bass into one zone one vibe it will cater and deliver for all to enjoy.

The zone will be hosted by MC JabZ and MC Persona, two of Christchurch's most lyrical progressive crowd interactive microphone terriosts. There will be 12 and a half hours of pure Tech Dub sound being driving from a very capable sound system.

STATE OF MIND are the headlining act for this event but to say this turn up early to catch Dancehall Bashment / Hip Hop Dj Red-i, he never fails to deliever the goods and get the party vibes rolling in the right direction. Also the one like Rudeboy Savage ( Salmonella Dub/Soundsystem ) follows up with a mash up of stylee rangeing from Dancehall to Dub / Punk through to D n B. Then Chch local's Syphon and ill-figa have the job to keep the crowd bouncing until the main event STATE OF MIND take stage.

State of Mind are no strangers to the world of Drum n Bass, be prepared to witness them drop dance floor devastating tunes from their own produced tunes and dubs from UK's finest producers, this event is going to be a sneak preview of what's to come on labels releasing the future sound of Drum n Bass being Bad Company Presents, C.I.A, 31 Records, Hostile, Techinque and Subtitles. Last time these lads played in Christhurch word on the street was they up staged their neighbouring super star producers/Dj's Pendulum. Here we have two fresh kids from Auckland New Zealand turning heads world wide and taking their sound drum n bass into the future. Rarely we get the chance to witness world class drum n bass producers / Dj's in the outdoor enviroment so this is one hell of a good reason to GET out of the city and come and support New Zealand drum n bass producers STATE OF MIND , come and let the new skool show you how its done. Christchurch producer Teknik steps up after the lads, He has been in the game now for quite some time and is more than capable to keeping the dance floor moving, keep an eye/ear out for this guy.

How to get there

Head out of town through Tai Tapu on the Christchurch - Akaroa Road. Drive for about 35 minutes until you reach Little River. As you are about to leave the township turn left on to Western Valley Road - it is signposted as the road to Port Levy. Drive carefully and look for the signs.
