After doing an Audio Engineering Course in 2001, Michael West started producing Hardcore and strangely structured Jungle under his nickname 'Westy'. Three underground albums were released locally under the name 'Westy', the best called 'Tremors', produced at Chch's MAINZ Studios.

Over the years a mere hobby grew into a deeply refined sound, and in mid 2005 he decided to change the name to 'Sick Cycle' to better represent the feeling behind the music: Anger at all the Unecessary Suffering in the World.

The release of "Meditation" in early 2006 saw Sick Cycle's reputation of solid production skyrocket, with three of the seven tracks on the album signed to record labels, and solidifying Sick Cycle in the World of Drum and Bass music.

So keep an eye out for Sick Cycle, he has plenty more tricks up his sleeves to come yet!
